On Condition Engines
Posted: 1 February 2011
Our Chief Engineer, Craig says:
"Running engines over 12 years or on condition is fine if they're flown once a week for at least an hour, but if not, corrosion may start.
Corrosion is one of the biggest problems and may cause bearing problems, camshaft failure, ex valve problems and cylinder and piston ring wear. It can cause all internal parts to corrode in quite a short time."
